VHS tapes are not meant for long term storage 3. Digitize your irreplaceable photos, slides, VHS tapes, and reel-to-reel movies 4. Store your newly digitized media in (or "on" as Kate would say) the cloud 5. Do these things now so you don't consider risking your life to save them! Photo and video memories are a recurring theme through the episodes. Remember Jack's oversized omnipresent camcorder, photos displayed throughout the house, and the precious albums that were saved from the fire.
